I got back my MS-1057.
Installed new Intel t7600. Upgraded to 4 gig of CAS 4 RAM. Eph’ed up the video cable while re-assembling. Everything that was black, turned red. Of course, I read that this could be something that indicates a broken video inverter or the like. And if it was that category of issue that it would probably require RMA.
If I really liked red, then it might be ok. But no longer is it usable as laptop, really. Took it apart again, inspected the wires. Looks like I DID pinch one. And now I put it back together, and one of the video cables must be unseated, because of even a red screen, I get nothing but white.
So now I’m going to try to make into a desktop hackintosh, with an external display.
I’ve so far:
- Boot from Boot 132.
- Install from Retail 10.5.
- Right now installing 10.5.8
- Installed Chameleon
- Rebooted using Boot 132, copied the /Extra/Extensions/ folder from Boot 132 cd to my hardrive’s /Extra/Extensions folder.
Now I have working straight away:
- Bluetooth
- Disc Burning
- Firewire
- USB
- Wired Networking
I then installed the driver from the forums over at insanely mac, the Azalia Audio package.
So sound out now works as well.
Overall, I’m really happy with this hack. Now I just have to figure out sleep/hibernate/shutdown, as well as the card reader and express card slot.
